Nat Oppenheimer joined Robert Silman Associates in 1989, and is currently a Principal of the firm. He has worked on a wide range of projects while with the firm and is currently Principal in Charge of the addition and renovation to the Harvard University Art Museum with Renzo Piano Building Workshop; the PUMA City container project at various sites (Boston, Spring 2009); and the New York City Police Academy with Perkins + Will. Over the years, he has been involved in many of RSA's best known residential projects, including the Rennert Residence in Southhampton (the country's largest single family residence), Villa Amore (by Agrest and Gandelsonas), and the Telyas Residence in Old Westbury (by Steven Holl Architects). Finally, he has participated in a variety of historic preservation projects including the restorations of Drayton Hall, Women's Rights National Historic Park, Harper's Ferry National Historic Park, the National Museum of the American Indian and the Old US Custom House, and Frank Lloyd Wright's Wingspread (Racine, WI). He was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Structural Engineers Association of New York and is currently on the executive committee of the Board of Directors of The Salvadori Center, on the Board of Directors of the Architectural League, and is a former panel member of the New York State Council on the Arts. He is the co-author of The Design of Renovations (New York: W.W. Norton, 1997). In addition to his work at Princeton University, he has been a visiting juror at Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Parsons School of Design, and Pratt Institute. |
