At the end of each semester, Architecture students completing Design Studio and Thesis (undergraduate and graduate) are required to submit a digital portfolio (or Senior Thesis disc) documenting their work for the SoA Student Work Archive. These files are retained by the School and form an archival resource used for exhibitions, publications, and accreditation.
Portfolio Requirement Timeline (Undergraduate)
Undergraduate students completing Junior Independent Work (JIW) and Arc 404 design studios are expected to submit a studio portfolio within one week following the end of the studio course. See Guidelines for Submitting Student Work for instructions.
All seniors are required to submit an abstract and up to 4 images documenting their Senior Thesis to the Programs Coordinator within one week of the due date of the senior thesis. This is a requirement for scheduling the oral examination. No oral examination will be held without the thesis abstract and the images.
Undergraduate students completing Senior Thesis are required to submit a digital copy of their thesis to the Programs Coordinator at the same time that they turn in their hard copies.
Portfolio Requirement Timeline (MArch)
Graduate students completing design studio courses are required to submit a studio portfolio within one week following the end of the studio course.
No later than one day prior to the Final Public Review, MArch thesis students must file a final thesis title by email to the Programs Coordinator to be printed in the program.
Between the Final Public Review and Class Day, MArch thesis students are required to submit their thesis project portfolio to the Visual Resources Curator for inclusion into the SoA Student Work Archive. See Guidelines for Submitting Student Work for specifics.
The Guidelines for Submitting Student Work apply to both MArch Thesis and design studio course documentation.
