Senior Studio Travels to Brazil

Led by Professor Mario Gandelsonas and PhD student Evangelos Kotsioris, the senior studio travelled to São Paulo, Brazil over Fall Break. We toured works by famed Brazilian architects Oscar Neimeyer, Lina Bo Bardi, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, and Roberto Burle Marx and fell in love with University of Sao Paulo's own SoA designed by João Batista Vilanova Artigas. There we workshopped with the Sao Paulo students, presenting work, trading ideas, and offering critiques. We also visited São Miguel nearby to survey the site of our final project, a hypothetical urban water park.
