Patricia Falguières is Professor of Renaissance Studies at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS), Paris. She has worked on Renaissance philosophy and arts, classifications, encyclopœdias and the birth of the museum. Among her publications is Les Chambres de merveilles (Bayard, 2002). She is currently working on Renaissance Technè, an approach to art as a mode of production through Aristotelian ontology. She started the Arts, Invention, Industrie Seminaire at the Institut National d’histoire de l’Art, Paris, and the Gottfried Semper International Conference. She has published extensively on contemporary art.
