The purpose of the conference is twofold: first, to produce new knowledge about specific aspects of architectural production under postmodernism and second, to invite these procedures to take on new meaning by putting them in conversation with emerging architectural concerns. The conference will focus on key points of contact between the postmodern and the contemporary with particular emphasis on methods of documentation and analysis, technical and narrative drawing, forms of architectural instruction and participatory design. Because these procedures are being both strategically and accidentally reappropriated, a better understanding of their immediate history is a necessary component of their reinvention.
