Prior to Princeton, Nicholas Risteen worked as an architect and designer in New York, Paris, and Philadelphia.
Research interests include 19th and 20th century architecture in Japan; history of science and material exchange; media influences on public design ideology; urban theory and design; political agency and public housing in Japan; post-disaster reconstruction in global contexts; philosophy and rhetoric of time.
