Matter: Questions of Preservation and Value

Jacqueline Shaw is the founder of Studio Euonym and an Assistant Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design. She has a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and a BFA in Interior Design from California State University, Long Beach. Jacqueline has ten years of professional experience in New York City and Detroit as an Associate at SPAN Architecture, and at the practices of Jaklitsch/Gardner Architects, what is now known as Stephen Burks Man Made and M1DTW. Studio Euonym’s current research investigates constructs of value in the context of historical objects, forms, and systems of evaluation for design archives. Most recently, the work has considered ways in which acts of historic preservation could exist as re-evaluative rather than additive processes.
