Sinking Cities - Post-Catastrophic Urban Environments

The project examines New York City's and Mexico City's subject to sinking; either by flooding or sinking into the ground.

By assuming a sea level rise of 10m, New York City faces the challenge to adapt to the new flooded condition. The design proposes that the city would still be a functioning urban environment; it would simply be a different one.

The post-catastrophic condition presents a multi-faceted set of challenges that require resolution at a granular and system level. The proposed design, via large scale drawing, offers a vision of what this new environment might look like.
