Seeking to utilize the inherent programmatic qualities of the old dinky station waiting space as generational parameters, this pavilion focused on the spatial and programmatic possibilities that simple geometries can provide. The goal was to create a geometry that was in conversation with the preceding analysis of Toyo Ito's 2002 Serpentine Pavilion but also with the site. However, just like Ito's pavilion sought to generate a geometry that was aesthetically and structurally functional, this pavilion searched for a geometry that would inherently provide for variation, not only in design but also program, and stay true to the parametric roots that generated its design and the preceding analysis.
