Project Title: "Long Island City Sculpture Pavilion"

Abstract

The program was to design a sculpture pavilion; a place where sculpture can be created as well as viewed. I was interested in exploring the notion of a pavilion as an architecture of display and formally I was interested in trying to recreate the idea of light shining down on a sculpture from above. This led me to the exploration of a light well system where every space is different and that creates an atmosphere where the visitor goes "inside" to go "outside"
