Dr. Ed Jackson Jr. served as the Executive Architect for the Washington, DC, Martin Luther King, Jr., National Memorial Project Foundation, Inc. from November 1996 to March 2012. Under his leadership, he directed and managed the programming, planning, site selection, design, and construction of the memorial.
Throughout his career, he has held numerous positions of responsibility including: Executive Architect, Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project; President of ArchD Consulting Ltd.; Director of Applied Research, The American Institute of Architects; and Senior Architect, The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. Dr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Illinois and a Doctorate of Architecture from University of Michigan.
