Freshman Seminar Examines Architectural Ethics

This semester, Structural Engineering and Architecture Professor Guy Nordenson is teaching "Design, Craft and Ethical Value," a freshman seminar in which first-year students investigate the ethical implications of craft-making. Nordenson, a practicing structural engineer, teaches through a broad lens that promotes interdisciplinary learning and attracts students with a variety of academic interests. "My hope is that students gain an interest in the relationship of design, craft and ethics through a number of cultures and historical periods," he said.
